* DON’T PARK IN A FIXED DAILY CHARGE BAY * * Keep a CITYEYE out before you CITYPARK when you VISIT NEWCASTLE * Newcastle City Council operates approximately 600 Parking Bays known as FIXED DAILY CHARGE BAYS. The FDC BAYS carry a £30 FIXED DAILY CHARGE for ALL users at ALL times except permit holders. The FIXED DAILY CHARGE BAYS look very similar to, and are often located next to, normal Pay & Display Bays. The road markings are NOT distinctive and the signage is NOT highly visible. You will get a FIXED DAILY CHARGE NOTICE of £30 EVEN if you buy a Pay & Display ticket. | |||||
| During 2004 Newcastle City Council issued over 30,000 FIXED DAILY CHARGE NOTICES. At £30 per DAILY CHARGE NOTICE that is almost ONE MILLION POUNDS per year. When you visit Newcastle, look very carefully at the signs next to your Parking Bay or at the Pay & Display Ticket Machines. It may look like the example shown above.
